Family and Future Guide Cervantes’ Campaign for Governor

As part of a farming family with deep roots in the Mesilla Valley, Joseph Cervantes knows you don’t plant pecan trees and expect them to produce immediately.

The Las Cruces lawyer and Doña Ana County state senator is taking the same approach in his race for governor of New Mexico.

“My focus is always on an agenda that goes far beyond my time in office, and even my time on Earth,” said Cervantes.

Cervantes, 56, has been a member of the New Mexico Legislature since 2001, including the last five years in the state Senate, where he serves as chair of the Conservation Committee.
